Recent Outings

We recently went for a walk up the road to the London Heritage Tea House where Gavin enjoyed lazing on dad's shoulder. Gavin also enjoyed his first wine tour to the Fraser Valley wineries. He was very excited to pose with two cows at Township 7 Winery.

It's so hot

Here is a photo of Gavin lazin without his clothes, because it was so hot out. He is also a big fan of his vibrating chair. He also loves to hang out on dad's shoulder. Helps to stop his crying- yes he does cry, but not to much.

Out for a Walk

It was time for both mom and Gavin to get outside for a walk. We all walked to our favourite little corner store where we bought our Island Farms dairy products.

Burping Time

Gavin really likes his burping time. He really does.

Car Ride

Gavin was looking very snug and secure in his carseat as we went for a ride to visit the doctor. The doctor let us know that he is fit and healthy and gaining weight at an above normal rate. I guess he likes to eat like his dad.

Bath Time

Gavin was not so keen on receiving his first bath at home from us, but at least he is now nice and clean.

Gavin Is Here!

Wow! What a week. We went to the hospital Monday morning for a routine test to ensure the baby was fine. We were hoping to be about an hour and then get in a round of golf. As you know that did not happen. One of the nurses commented she thought the baby was breech. Sharon had often thought this, but previous doctors had just thought he had a hard bum. A couple other nurses and doctors came and checked. They then did an ultrasound with a small machine in the room. It still wasn't conclusive so we were sent downstairs for a full ultrasound. The nurse was correct, little Gavin, was right side up, which is wrong side up when it comes to delivering the baby. Due to Sharon being a week late we were informed that the baby would have to come by c-section. We were taken back a little, but the surgery went well and Gavin was born. We are now back at home. I will upload some new photos tomorrow.

Still Waiting

We continue to wait.

We have been on an organizing and cleaning spree the last couple days to keep busy. A twelve hour 90210 marathon helped to pass some time as well. I managed to get the patio walls scrubbed down and dug out my old stuffed animals I have been saving for years while cleaning the storage locker.

Today we were off to rescue Andrea from boredom at SFU as she was a day early for her week of work. We spent a lovely afternoon at Buntzen lake, Sharon was the only one to swim, but Andrea and I traded teacher talk stories.

Canada Day

As we wait we might as well enjoy the beautiful weather. Canada Day was as action packed as usual. We began the day with a stroll into Steveston to partake in Steveston Days and enjoy the famous salmon BBQ. The salmon was cooked over a large open pit fire. After wandering around and enjoying an icecream at Timothy's we headed home and rested, Brian and I with cigars and scotch on the patio, before heading down to Jericho Beach for an evening picnic. While there we were surprised to see the hovercraft pull up to the beach right in front of us. Seems that the hike out of Wreck Beach is a little much for some. Was apparently the fouth time that day someone was rescued from Wreck Beach. Alyssa, Andrew, Ryan, Brian and Megan helped us enjoy a fantastic Canada Day.

The Countdown Begins

Well, here we are at 12:30am on July 3rd. Our doctor prescribed due date. Within the next 10 days or so McBaby should have arrived. We have created this blog to post updates, photos, etc. on McBaby for all to see. Check back as often as you like, we will try to update daily with commentary and photos.
